Replacement of Landing Lane Bridge, Roxbury Township, NJ

Landing Lane BridgeIn order to improve the capacity of the crossing and safety at the site, the County of Morris has identified the need to replace Landing Road Bridge over NJ Transit located in Roxbury Township. The existing bridge was constructed in 1907 and is classified as functionally obsolete due to inadequate deck. The existing 136’ long bridge is a two span with an approach roadway is 28’ wide. The proposed new structure will comprise of reinforced concrete substructures, as well as pre-stressed concrete beams or precast arches with a concrete deck slab.

Distinct Engineering Solutions, Inc. (DESI) has previously provided Geotechnical Investigations and Foundation Engineering services and HAZMAT Investigations. The work for the project has once again resumed, and DESI is providing LSRP and environmental services for the project currently. DESI is evaluating the presence and impact of possible contamination from USTs and former operations within the project corridor consisting of the proposed right-of-way (ROW) and adjacent properties.
