Project Controller is a key position and the person is responsible for the management of financial and administrative activities of DESI projects. The individual must have a minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably in the AE or construction fields; ability to use MS Excel and Quick Books to track project utilization, vendors and invoicing. The individual will report directly to the President. The successful candidate will have significant interaction with Discipline Leads and Project Managers, Corporate Accounting Team as well as with other members of management. Project controller is a business financial function, providing valuable support in overseeing operations of project and service tasks and reporting on their progress on regular basis to upper management.
Responsibilities: The Controller will be knowledgeable about all aspects of Project Accounting and Job Assignment Prepare the monthly reports of staff utilization, provide back up to PM for invoicing Select invoices to be included in the monthly disbursement cycle, Monitor and track the cash position of the project, Review & Process subcontractor invoices with input from PM and, Ensure the subcontractor is complying with terms and conditions of the contract (i.e. insurance, billing procedures, etc.).
The person will work closely with the President, Discipline Directors and Project Managers on all facets of project accounting and administration. Manage project cash collection activity as well as prepare cash forecasts. Function as the financial management link between the project team and Company Accountant.
Qualifications: At least 5 years of work experience A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business. Advanced degree a plus. Candidates with a CPA designation are preferred but not mandatory Extensive knowledge of standard accounting policies and procedures. Experience with Federal Government accounting rules and regulations (FARs). Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Superior interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills. Leadership capabilities to manage a team in an efficient and effective manner. Ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles. Must be able to manage strict timelines with multiple projects in order to meet deadlines under high-pressure environment.
