Project Overview:

The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) retained Arup to support NYCDEP’s Green Infrastructure Program. The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Office of Green Infrastructure (OGI), in conjunction with other City agencies, is currently implementing the Mayoral PlaNYC Green Infrastructure Program. The scope of this program includes the construction of Right of Way Bioswales (ROWB), Storm water Green streets (SGS), and other storm water management practices.

Distinct Engineering Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is assisting ARUP with the Hazardous Materials Testing Program; Vault Surveys; Geotechnical Investigations and Evaluations including planning, project management and full-time site supervision of a Subsurface investigation Program that includes more than 600 proposed ROWBs, in-site permeability testing and laboratory testing; and support engineering design services through construction, review existing documents and boring information as obtained from other agencies, Sanborn map review, and upon completion of the subsurface investigation a geotechnical data report will be prepared outlining the findings.

DESI will support in preparation of bidding documents including preparing specification sections related to geotechnical and environmental work following completion of final reports to meet the delivery milestones of 60%, 90%, and final design.
