Project Cost: $36,000

Project Overview:

Monmouth University needed to remove a 20,000 gallon No. 2 heating oil underground storage tank (UST), serving their Student Center facility, during the summer break. Distinct Engineering Solutions, Inc. (DESI) provided turnkey services to competitively bid the project to retain a qualified UST-certified subcontractor to remove the tank. DESI provided field supervision during the tank removal operation, documented field conditions, obtained soil samples per NJDEP regulations, and conducted modified proctor density tests to assess adequacy of soil compaction. Collected groundwater samples using alternate groundwater sampling technique, analyzed samples to verify if potential for impact from oil stored in tank. Prepared and submitted Site Investigation Report to NJDEP.

DESI also provided Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) services to review the work and to obtain a RAO for the project.
